Proxy configuration guide
The proxy IP address and port number must be properly configured into your web browser before you can start using the proxy. Below you will find the instructions how to do it for the most popular web browsing applications: FireFox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera.
FireFox, versions 2.x.x and 3.x.x
- If you are using version 2.0.x select menu Edit -> Preferences otherwise select menu Tools -> Options.
- Select "Advanced" tab.
- Open "Network" tab.
- Click "Settings" button in the "Connections" area.
- Select "Manual proxy configuration"
- Enter your HTTP proxy IP address and port number.
- Click "Use this proxy server for all protocols".
- Click "OK" button to activate new proxy settings.
Internet Explorer, versions 6.0, 7.0, 8.0
- Select Tools -> Internet Options.
- Select the "Connections" tab.
- If you are using LAN, click "LAN Settings" button. If you are using Dial-up or Virtual Private Network connection, select necessary connection and click "Settings" button.
- Unselect "Automatically detect proxy settings" checkbox.
- Unselect "Use automatic configuration script" option.
- In the "Proxy Server" area, click the check box next to "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
- Enter proxy server IP address and proxy port.
- Enable "Bypass proxy server for local addresses".
- Click "Advanced" button right next to proxy port field.
- Click "Use the same proxy server for all protocols".
- Click "OK" button to activate new proxy settings.
Safari, version 4.x.x
- Click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences".
- Select "Network".
- Open the "Proxies" tab.
- Check "Web Proxy" and "Secure Web Proxy".
- Enter your HTTP proxy IP address and port number for both protocols.
- Click "Apply Now" button to activate new proxy settings.
Opera version 9.xx
